Overview
Intended originally for private consumption, Sir Clarmont Skrine films life working in the British colonies, with leisure time to spend in pursuit of seasonal sports including football, skating, diving and horse-jumping. Highlights also include amateur film coverage of the Epsom Derby and the 1934 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final, between J. Crawford and F. J. Perry – Fred Perry’s first Wimbledon title.
Sir Clarmont Percival Skrine OBE (1888-1974) was a British civil servant and administrator who served as the British consul-general in Kashgar from 1922 to 1924, Under-Secretary of State for India and agent for the Madras States from 1936 to 1939.
