Chinese-American star Anna May Wong dazzles as a Chinese dancer forced to give herself to a Russian General in order to save her brother.
Russia, 1913. Anna May Wong stars as Hai Tang, a beautiful exotic dancer in a celebrated Chinese troupe. She attracts attention from the Grand Duke, but refuses his advances because she is secretly in love with his lieutenant, Boris Borissoff. But when Hai Tang’s brother is arrested, she is forced to court the Duke in order to secure her sibling’s release.
