Everything Went Fine

15 rating

François Ozon’s Palme d’Or-nominated film stars Sophie Marceau as a daughter trying to honour her father’s end-of-life wishes.

When elderly André (André Dussollier) has a stroke, his daughter Emmanuèle (Sophie Marceau) rushes to his bedside. Sick and half-paralyzed, he asks her to help him end his life. Based upon the autobiographical book Everything Went Well by the late Emmanuèle Bernheim, a frequent Ozon collaborator, and also starring Charlotte Rampling as André’s abrasive ex-wife, this is a highly sensitive film about a provocative subject.
