Trevor (Roth) is a violent, racist skinhead who refuses to cooperate with any attempts by the courts or social workers to rehabilitate him, but confounds their preconceptions by being clearly intelligent and articulate. Although produced for television, Made in Britain saw Clarke experimenting with the use of Steadicam for the first time, resulting in a more dynamic visual style that he’d adopt for all subsequent works.
