In one of Pedro Almodóvar’s darkest tales, a former porn actress (Victoria Abril) is abducted by a former psychiatric patient (Antonio Banderas), who believes she will fall in love with him.

The power struggle between the sexes is a favourite theme of Almodóvar, although this is the most extreme example in his filmography, and the ending will divide audiences. Both Abril and Banderas are superb.
