A kindly bear, an evil dwarf and two sisters populate a magical animated fairy story.
This adaptation of a Brothers Grimm story, is not to be confused with Snow White. Two girls shelter a kindly bear through the winter and miss him when he leaves in spring. They encounter a dwarf whose beard is trapped in a tree and free him on condition that he changes the bear back into the prince he once was. This was one of a series of animated fairy tales made by Lotte Reiniger in the mid-1950s.
The film's producer, Carl Koch, was also Reiniger's husband, and worked with her until his death in 1963.
