The Brothers

A swirling Skye-set melodrama about the murderous grudge between two Scottish clans, aroused by the arrival of a newcomer to the isle.

John Laurie (still best known as Frazer in Dad’s Army) stars alongside Patricia Roc, who plays the orphan girl who comes between the two warring families. With its setting on the Isle of Skye and its stormy atmospherics, The Brothers is reminiscent of Michael Powell’s Scotland-set works from around the same period.
