A troubled young sheep farmer falls for a hired hand in this stunning debut from Francis Lee.

Yorkshire sheep farmer Johnny (O’Connor) is dedicated to keeping his family’s farm afloat after his father’s stroke. He finds release from his exhausting everyday life through binge drinking and casual sex. When lambing season comes along, his family recruits some help in the form of Romanian worker Gheorghe (Secareanu), who conjures unspoken emotions in Johnny.

Francis Lee’s astonishing debut feature has won widespread acclaim since its debut at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, winning major awards at Berlin and the BIFAs, and establishing the director as a powerful new voice in British filmmaking. God’s Own Country was made with the support of the BFI using funds from the National Lottery.
