For this ‘documentary’ artist Gillian Wearing brought together seven volunteers who, in workshops with a drama teacher, created fantasy identities for themselves through discussion and in short films. A fascinating exploration of the relationship between reality and representation, performance and identity, the film is raw, revealing and at times very affecting.
