In this intimate depiction of 1930s youth culture, of See how life plays out through the eyes of the young boys of Stepney, East London.
This amateur documentary excerpt opens with a portrait of the cramped environment of the East End - “four or five families per house!” The camera pans the streets, lamenting their dilapidation. Markets packed, buildings broken. An index of the “types of boys” provides insight into their world and some of many problems they face including street gambling.
