Overview
Aberaeron abuzz with beautiful sail boats and crowds of people. [Gwilym] Alun Davies, a son of the town who taught at Tregaron and then Aberaeron schools, captures also its attractive buildings (including those now known as The Harbourmaster Hotel and The Hive) and the greasy pole competition.
[Gwilym] Alun Davies, brother of [Goronwy] Wyn and Rhiannon, married Mattie, a hairdresser, and they had a son, Nigel, the young boy Alun has filmed playing cricket with friends on the grassy side of the harbour, alongside the street in which the family lived. Nigel’s two sons – Rhys and Rhodri – now run The Hive. Alun and Mattie are seen on hills above the town, the camera’s zoom lens showing the new school, the vicarage and the Memorial Hall, next to which is Alun’s mother’s house, ‘Tremle’.
