An Edwardian First Division football match played at Blackburn's Ewood Park Stadium.
The match drew 1-1, a relief to Blackburn fans: when the teams last met, they lost 3-0. Sheffield's players are wearing red and white striped shirts, easily identifiable even in black and white. A recurring placard reads 'SPECIALLY TAKEN FOR GREEN'S CINEMATOGRAPH', carelessly held upside down at one point. The film was commissioned by showman George Green, who showed it at his travelling fair.
Ewood Park's Nuttall Street Stand, visible more or less throughout, was brand new at the time of filming: it had only opened at January. In the 1990s, it was redeveloped as the Jack Walker Stand.
