A short colour glimpse of preserved Welshpool steam on the ‘other’ side of Raven Square.
Adopted and re-opened in 1963 as a preserved tourist line, the Welshpool and Llanfair railway sadly never achieved its aim of running trains through the town of Welshpool. The terminus today ends just short of the roundabout at Raven Square. In this film by William Arthur 'Cam' Camwell, we see one of the original W&L locomotives with a train of volunteers as they cross the level crossing and take a winding trip into the town section.
