Bustling scenes in Edwardian Lancashire, outside the mill gates and on the street.
Workers pile through the massive gates of what is probably one of many textile mills in Darwen at the start of the 20th Century. The identity of the mill is one of several unknowns about this film. Another mystery surrounds the unwieldy, oddly-shaped object carried on one man's head at the beginning of the film – could it be an elaborate loaf of bread?
