Amateur film featuring government buildings in Delhi, a shooting party in Malakand and winter in Abbottabad
This amateur film shot by William Meiklejohn features scenes around Delhi and the North-West Frontier Province (then part of British India, now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan). Locations include a bridge over the Indus at Attock, the Hassan Abdal cattle fair and the Khyber Pass. The travelling party can be seen enjoying a Sunday shoot in the Malakand Agency and swimming in Abbottabad.
William Meiklejohn was an enthusiastic amateur filmmaker, recording his work and travels in India. Meiklejohn joined the Indian Forest Service in 1910, and spent most of his working life with the IFS in the North-West Frontier Province, United Provinces, Bengal and Assam.
