Devon

The cream of Devon painted in an unfamiliar palette in this Dufaycolor travelogue

With picturesque coastlines topping and tailing areas of open moorland, it's no wonder Devon is such a popular holiday destination. This travelogue produced in the distinctive but shortlived Dufaycolor process makes full use of its wider palette to capture the local colour. The format of following a traveller on their journey around the area is a familiar feature of the travelogue. As is the poetic - but unfortunately in this case somewhat lecherous - commentary.

Sadly, the surviving copy held in the BFI National Archive included a soundtrack for only the first of its two reels.
