The Kings Road punks go on a day trip - to 10 Downing Street! - in this edition of Captain Zip's Video Trip.

Join the young punks upsetting the status quo of late-70s London in this edition of Captain Zip's Video Trip. Punk chronicler Captain Zip - aka Phil Munnoch - shot a series of 8mm films of his friends hanging out around the Kings Road in Chelsea between 1978 and 1982. This film documents a day trip by members of punk band The Dispozest, taking in Downing Street (even punks could wander up to Number 10 in 1978!), a performance by the band, and a gang of 'punkettes' crashing at Zip's flat.

Look out for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse of punk icon Jordan outside Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren's legendary shop at 430 Kings Road, where she worked. By this point the shop was already in its fourth incarnation, Seditionaries, its anonymous exterior a contrast to precursor SEX and the crooked shopfront of World's End, which came later and is still open today. The famous backwards clock of World's End is seen briefly in the film, presumably edited in by Munnoch later.
