“Mosque and picturesque scenes in Palestine now occupied by the British" – the Mosque of Omar, or Dome of the Rock, has been “freed” by British troops.
This footage was shot by Harold Jeapes who began working in the film business as a teenager in 1899 – the very early days of the industry. He worked extensively as a newsfilm cameraman, and during World War he was the official war cinematographer in Palestine and Egypt for the War Office.
