A grand parade takes to the streets of Stafford.
The people of Stafford have really gone to town for their July carnival of 1964. Elaborately decorated floats, many from familiar local employers including English Electric and Lotus Shoes, slowly make their way past the crowds in the grand parade. The complex paddle steamer and the huge swan are particularly eye catching although we're not sure of the significance of the men dressed as babies and, unfortunately for them, it doesn't look like a particularly hot day.
The man behind the camera is local man Reg Stoddard.
