Off the Atlantic coast of Cornwall are perilous waters populated by pirates, smugglers and sharks
From Newquay to Looe, the coast of Cornwall forms a beautiful frame to the county. The harvests of the western seaboard are delivered up by net, rod and spear: pilchards, sea bass, even a mako shark! These are the nation's warmest waters, but anglers wear woolly hats and divers wear woolly pants. The fisherman's window of Truro's Anglican Cathedral contrasts with the pagan delights of Polperro Carnival.
The narration is by Canadian actor Don Mason, whose transatlantic tones will be familiar to many through his later voicing of Captain Troy Tempest in Gerry Anderson's popular children's television series Stingray.
