Launch of Canadian Pacific Steamship "Princess Elizabeth"

The steamship Princess Elizabeth glides down the slipway at Fairfield, Glasgow.

The launch of the Canadian Pacific steamship Princess Elizabeth at Fairfield shipyard on the Clyde was included in the Glasgow edition of the Topical Budget newsreel. SS Princess Elizabeth went on to ply the route between Victoria and Vancouver, Canada, before moving on to the Seattle-Victoria journey. She was sold by Canadian Pacific in 1960, and reached the end of her active service in 1976 when she was scrapped.
