Milton Keynes and the area

Anglia TV footage of the pre-existing towns and pretty North Bucks hamlets newly incorporated into the New Town Development of Milton Keynes. For TV transmission on 28 June 1968.

Milton Keynes was formally designated as a New Town on 23 January 1967. Taking its name from the pre-existing village Milton Keynes, the 'new town' area also incorporated four surrounding towns, and another fifteen North Buckinghamshire villages and farmland in between. The cameraman uses his fingers as substitue for a clapperboard in this footage (visuals only) that forms part of a news feature by Anglia TV intended for transmission in June 1968 with audio-narration.
