Our Hertfordshire Heritage

An amateur travelogue consisting of a series of annotated shots of interesting and picturesque places throughout the County of Hertfordshire including Verulamium, Great Amwell, Ayot St Lawrence, Woolmer Green Model Village, Barley Mill, Buntingford Church, Standon Green, Temple Bar, Westmill, Newgate Street, Northaw, Digswell Viaduct, Aldenham Reservoir, Ardley, Lemsford, Bennington, Welwyn Garden City, Aldbury and Putterham, the ‘Thankful Village’.

The county of Hertfordshire is well-known for ‘chocolate-box’ villages of timber-framed houses and thatched cottages, despite offering a greater number of ‘new towns’ compared to neighbouring counties – Hemel Hempstead, Welwyn Garden City, Letchworth, Stevenage and Hatfield.
