Cotton, rice and tea, mountain railways, elephants and buffalo: India’s life, landscape and people through Western eyes.
Cotton, rice and tea, mountain railways, elephants and buffalo – this survey of India’s life, landscape and people takes the form of a brisk and sunny travelogue. As the title suggests, it’s a rather romanticised Western view of Britain’s biggest colony.
