Overview
This inspirational film shows disabled athletes preparing for the Special Olympics in Sheffield. The film begins with one of the athletes describing their training. This is followed by the main portion of the film which takes place in a sports hall in Sheffield. Athletes are shown honing their skills in a number of sports including football and rugby with support from sports professionals.
The Special Olympics was founded in 1968 and is the largest sports organisation in the world for adults and children with disabilities. Sheffield hosted the Special Olympics again in 2017 which saw over 2,500 athletes compete from around the world.
