Sunday Promenade of Spectators in West Park, Hull (1902)
Kingston-upon-Hull residents take the air and feed the birds in their Sunday finery.
Overview
A typical Sunday promenade, whose participants are clearly dressed to impress. Almost everyone wears a hat, with several of the woman choosing particularly ostentatious creations. Family groups predominate, and there's a lakeside interlude as children pause to feed swans, geese and ducks. There is some dispute over whether this was shot in West Park or nearby Pearson Park, a mile northwest.
