The Henley Regatta

It's the first weekend of July 1901, and high society are on the Thames

This lovely view of the Henley Regatta in full swing is perhaps more interesting to us today as an opportunity to observe Victorian high society. The spectators are all dressed up in their finest clothes, ready to see and be seen at this annual fixture.

The race shown is the Grand Challenge Cup, won by the Leander Club from Pennsylvania University.
