From early in the morning on July 11th 1977, patriotic revellers from all parts of Suffolk gather in Ipswich, entertained by Morris Dancers and a live concert performance, awaiting the arrival of Her Majesty the Queen. The royal cavalcade make their way to Tavern Street to rapturous applause, then complete a tour that includes a specially commissioned performance composed by Benjamin Britten, and ends with boarding the Royal Yacht Britannia at Felixstowe.
