Dinard

Join Lewis Rosenberg and his mates on a short trip to Dinard and Mont St Michel in this film made during the last years of peace in Europe

A quick trip to Brittany opens this short film from Lewis Rosenberg. He and his friends board a steamer to St Malo where they later catch another boat over to Dinard. After drinks at a café the group board a charabanc heading to the citadel of Mont St Michel. We're then on a small boat heading for a rocky beach where the mixed party enjoys dancing in grass skirts and parasols. We see passengers board the steamer for Portsmouth before seeing some of Lewis' pals climb a cliff at sunset.

Lewis Rosenberg was born in London in 1906 to immigrant working class Polish Jewish parents. When he was in his twenties he bought his first 9.5mm cine camera and, despite a lack of formal training, took it with him when he went on camping holidays with his friends, mostly to Cornwall and Guernsey.
