Overview
Kenya’s first science-fiction film takes a dazzling trip into a post-apocalyptic world in which water has almost run out. In an arid future Africa, a museum curator manages to germinate a seed and decides to break free from her contained community to try and restore plant-life to the dead land.
Writer-directed Wanuri Kahiu worked with mentors such as South Africa’s Simon Hansen (an associate of District 9’s Neil Blomkamp) as part of a scheme called Africa First short film program, financed by Focus Features, the Goethe Institut and the Changamoto arts fund.
