It?s Saturday 17th June 1933 and Norwich society were out in force for the wedding of Mr. William H. B. Sanders and Miss Kathleen May Vincent at Christ Church Eaton.
Professional photographer, Ford Jenkins was there to produce a wonderful souvenir of the event capturing guests as they arrived and more detailed moments as the best man checked the groom's tie and cuffs. The close ups of the bridal party show the magnificence of the dresses and flowers and the joy of the couple as they exit the church. Then on to the reception in a grand marquee at the bride's home in Unthank Road before final happy but tearful farewells as the newly weds depart.
This wedding film must have been a wonderful film for the new Mr and Mrs Sanders to come home to and a treasured momento throughout their lives together. Church records show that the groom, aged 29, was a Chemist and Optician based in Lowestoft and may well have been a friend of the photographer Ford Jenkins who was also based in the town. Kathleen, aged 24 was recorded as a 'Spinster' and daughter of Samuel Vincent, a Norwich Auctioneer and Estate Agent.
