Green-fingered Edwardian youngsters strike it lucky in Blackburn’s Corporation Park.
With the formation of numerous local horticultural societies in the late Victorian era, amateur gardening competitions had never been so popular, and schoolchildren were encouraged to join in. This film was exhibited at the Exchange Theatre in a double bill with a royal visit by HRH Princess Louise, who visited Blackburn on 30th September 1905 to unveil a statue to her mother, Queen Victoria.
