Its a family affair as children and adults tuck into ice creams on a summer outing to Northumberland and fathers lark around for the camera carefree days for the vibrant Jewish community on Tyneside in the 1930s, despite the rising tide of fascism in Europe and imminent outbreak of World War Two.

This is one of two films, monochrome and colour, that record this Northumbrian outing for children (the location and filmmaker are unidentified), featured in a rare collection of footage by five different amateur filmmakers active in the life of the Jewish community in Newcastle and Gateshead between 1937 and 1962.
