Warwickshire face the Australian touring cricket team at Edgbaston
Edgbaston, 4 August 1926, and a large crowd have gathered in anticipation of Warwickshire taking on the Australian touring team. Bill Ponsford and Bill Woodfull take to the crease as opening batsmen for Australia. This was the first time during Australia's tour of England that the two of them opened the batting together. It would prove to be a successful partnership, with Ponsford scoring 144 and Woodfull 51. Warwickshire amassed a very respectable 363 before rain stopped play - a thunderstorm, actually - on the third day, leaving the match a draw.
