Dumped and devastated Peter (Jason Segel) holidays to Hawaii only to discover his ex is shacked up there with a debauched rock star (Russell Brand).
Russell Brand nearly steals the show of this Hawaii-set Judd Apatow production, as the debauched rock star who hooks up with the girlfriend of heartbroken holidaymaker Peter (Jason Segel). A bizarre love triangle soon becomes a quadrangle when Peter initiates a relationship with hotel concierge Rachel (Mila Kunis).
Possibly the most charming production from the Apotow stable, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is endearing largely due to Jason Segel’s sympathetic and nicely judged leading performance. Brand would reprise the character of Aldous Snow as a leading character in Get Him to the Greek, while Peter’s performance of a Dracula puppet show (created by the Jim Henson workshop) is clearly a forerunner for Segel’s later dalliance with The Muppets.
