All ashore! Passengers disembark and crew offload after a long Atlantic crossing.
The Cunard ship SS Saxonia made her maiden voyage from Liverpool to Boston in May 1900. The passengers here would have been returning from Boston, or from Queenstown in Ireland, the only other stop. As often in Mitchell & Kenyon films, we can detect staging by the filmmaker: as the mail is unloaded, one young sailor grabs a crate marked 'fragile' and casually throws it to his mate on the quay.
