Keep calm and carry on - these East End schoolkids dance to lift the spirits of Kiwi troops

The Blitz spirit began earlier than you think. The death of 18 Poplar schoolchildren in a bombing raid on 13 June 1917 was all the more devastating for being so unexpected. This was the first daylight raid on London by the new Gotha G.IV bomber planes, and proved to be the deadliest, with 162 lives lost. Undaunted, almost a month on these East End children dance for New Zealand troops on a windswept day. Keep calm and carry on.
