Two young men and a camera set off on a tour of South West England. Lucky for them it's sunshine all the way.
Amateur filmmaker Ronald A Yeatman and his companion William H Lloyd, credited as photographer, set off on a motoring tour of the south west of England - from Dorset to the Isle of Wight to Bournemouth. Lucky for them it's non-stop sunshine all the way. The relaxed mood of the two friends is captured through beautiful framing, slow pans and long-held shots.
Yeatman was from Lambeth in South London and part of the Yeatman Funeral Directors family. He was a keen amateur filmmaker and member of the Astral Cine Club. His rich film legacy covers family holidays and local social events spanning the mid-1930s to early 1950s. Explore more of his work including Suburban Weekend (1946), also available on BFI Player.
