Brendan Gleeson and Michael Fassbender are the rival heads of an anarchic crime family in this exhilarating crime drama. Set amid the unusual milieu of a Traveller community, Adam Smith’s film follows Chad Cutler (Michael Fassbender) as he begins to question the criminal path set out for him by the king of the caravan-dwelling clan, his father Colby (Brendan Gleeson). As the outlaws undertake a series of ever riskier robberies, Chad sees an opportunity to escape his destiny – but it will require a collision with his unrepentant father.

Director Adam Smith reunites with The Chemical Brothers following their feature-length concert film Don’t Think, and the result is as pulsating and adrenaline-fuelled as a high-tempo techno track (even if the Chemicals’ soundtrack is more orchestral than you’d expect). One of the most original British crime thrillers of recent years, Trespass Against Us boasts a pair of commanding performances from its two exalted leads.
