Ever since their mother died, Eva has dominated the lives of her three sisters with an iron will. And her three brother-in-law have had enough; in desperation they hire the services of the ultimate player, Ray (LL Cool J) seduce her to distraction. But what happens when the player gets played?

While there may not be too many unexpected turns in Gary Hardwick’s comforting narrative arc, Deliver Us from Eva does contain a major surprise – the effectiveness of LL Cool J (billed as James Todd Smith) as a romantic lead. His assured performance adds a touch of class to this funny, feelgood romance. Notable for the strength of its black ensemble cast, the script was originally developed with a white cast in mind.
