Home taping almost kills music as a schoolboy band's dreams of talent show glory may be scuppered by video piracy.
Who would have thought that a pop group called The Pirates would have one in their midst? The schoolboys have a good chance of winning their local talent competition thanks to a great song, but their singer's shady activities put their final show in jeopardy. Even in the dark days before MTV, it's a little hard to believe there was an illicit trade in music videos - especially Rod Stewart ones - but there are enjoyable 80s references in this cool yet gritty offering from the Children's Film and Television Foundation.
