Paddy Considine’s powerful feature debut (from his own script) is a bleak portrayal of the troubled lives of its Leeds-based characters. The self-destructive Joseph (Peter Mullan) crosses paths with the sympathetic Hannah (Olivia Colman) and they embark on an unlikely friendship that ultimately leads to redemption, as well as relief from their seemingly unrelenting torment.

Tyrannosaur is unapologetically dark and challenging, but supported by astonishingly strong performances, impressive direction and stunning cinematography.
