Queen Victoria arrives for a garden party at Buckingham Palace following her Diamond Jubilee
Any excuse for a party. A week after the events of Jubilee Day marking the Queen's 60th year on the throne, guests gather at Buckingham Palace to continue the celebrations. Lord Salisbury - the last Prime Minister chosen from the House of Lords - is also filmed greeting some of the privileged invitees. The events took place on 28 June 1897, and the cameraman is believed to be the Polish-born Adolphe Langfier.
