The opening match of the 1925 county championship season and Warwickshire's batting is undone by Dick Tyldesley.
May 1925 and Lancashire open the season against Warwickshire at Old Trafford. This short Topical Budget newsreel features play in progress on day two, with Warwickshire chasing 283. As well as some nice high angle shots of the ground, the film also singles out the batting of Warwickshire's LTA Bates and WG Quaife and the bowling of Lancashire's CH Parkin and Dick Tyldesley, the latter of whom was having a memorable match.
Despite a convincing lead by Lancashire forcing Warwickshire to follow on, the match ended up a draw, the third day abandoned due to the weather.
