I Love You Phillip Morris
Jim Carrey’s irrepressible performance drives the incredible true story of a con man who repeatedly escapes from prison to be with his lover.
Director: John Requa and Glenn Ficarra
Overview
Jim Carrey’s irrepressible whirlwind of a performance drives the incredible real-life story of Steven Jay Russell, a con man who ends up in prison and falls in love with fellow inmate Phillip Morris. When Morris is released, Russell will do anything to be reunited with him, repeatedly escaping from prison in increasingly inventive style in order to be near his soul-mate.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s engaging comic drama is propelled by Carrey’s superb performance, the perfect outlet for his seriocomic mixture of energy and charm, as a man addicted to invention and entirely devoted to his true love.
